The Tecline RecTec is an open-heel fin with stainless spring straps for divers who mix recreational and technical diving. The blade uses Channel Thrust with four channels: water is directed for efficient thrust without the weight of a full classic jet fin.

How the RecTec works

The fin combines three materials: a technopolymer blade, a thermoplastic rubber foot pocket and stainless spring straps. Four channels in the blade guide the water flow. You get a fin that feels solid for frog kick and flutter without the mass of a full-rubber jet fin.

Sizes and colours

Available in S, M/L and XL, in red or blue. For M/L (shoe about 42-43) the fin is about 650 mm long and 220 mm wide, at about 2.1 kg per pair. Other sizes share the same build; choose by shoe size and boots.

RecTec, LightJet or PowerJet?

RecTec sits between recreational and technical: a Channel Thrust blade, not the light TPV travel fin and not the heavy rubber jet fin. For an ultralight travel fin see the Tecline LightJet. It also suits divers who like a neutral fin: it has less influence on your centre of gravity, which helps your trim. For a classic technical jet fin with stiffness options see the Tecline PowerJet.

Frequently asked questions

Which RecTec size do I need?

M/L fits shoe size about 42-43. S and XL cover smaller and larger feet; with thick drysuit boots, size up or ask us for advice.

How does it differ from the LightJet?

LightJet is a light TPV jet fin for travel and wetsuit diving, and a good choice if you want a neutral fin with less influence on your centre of gravity for trim. RecTec has a Channel Thrust blade and feels firmer for recreational and light technical work.

Can I frog kick with RecTec?

The Channel Thrust blade is designed for controlled kicks, including frog and flutter. How a technique feels also depends on your trim and training.

Do they fit over drysuit boots?

Open heel with spring straps works over boots; choose a size with enough room. Neoprene boots or socks from our shop help with fit.
